My son was in a public school, and the school staff recommended us to hold him back to “reinforce” some of the concepts. During the year he was pulled for small periods of times to work one on one with a teacher, my kid was trying really hard, but the support that he was getting at school was not enough and not adequate. My son was loosing his confidence and self-esteem, and he did not want to attend school anymore. When we question the school they told us that he had ADHD.

When we switch schools and enrolled our son at the Applied Scholastic Academy North County, his life change completely. He now loves to go to school, he is confident, he reads and completes math problems on his own, and he is excited about school projects and homework. It is impressive to see the change in his life, he never had any ADHD, what he needed was to be on an environment of sincere care and love, where he is supported and challenge at the same time, and where the small wins are recognized and celebrated.

At Applied Scholastic Academy North County we find true educators, wonderful professionals and great friends, they are truly committed to the kids. Yes, there is a cost for this, but the cost is nothing if we compare the amazing foundation that my kid have now, his strong self-esteem and the completely different future that now he have, what a change, from a kid that supposedly have ADHD to a happy successful kid.

We are blessed and lucky to have this amazing team of people supporting our kid … after all, we want what is best for our kids.

People used to say to me she was so quiet and ask me did she ever speak. At her old preschool the teacher used to say “she is fine, she just plays in the corner by herself all day.” This actually made me feel sad that she would spend any part of her day playing in a corner alone. As you know she has now been with you since the beginning of the school year and she has changed so much. She is now a very confident chatty little lady. Her favorite subject is math and she loves to read with anyone who will listen to her. She bounces out of bed every morning and has so many friends that she talks about every day. I am very proud of her and amazed by progress she had made in such a short period of time.

I feel she is so safe within your small school community and I know she feels so special with the attention she gets from a smaller environment.

All human beings deserve a good education. We need more public schools that are like private schools. Less homework at home and more work done in schools. There should be better pay for the teachers because they teach people things they need to know. Education is IMPORTANT and we should do all we can to improve it.

It is important to clean up the environment. We need to recycle more and use less. We all share this planet that is why we should not waste what we have. Also, people should take better care of living things. Everybody should follow the “leave no trace” rule.

We must have a wiser government. Government should not raise taxes for people who work hard and earn more money and the poor people who can’t work. We should have more jobs for Americans not illegal immigrants. Our congressmen need to be accountable with our money and time.

In summary, we need to help change the world. A good education helps us make wiser choices in life. We can clean our environment to improve our lives. Our politicians need to be more honest. WE NEED TO IMPROVE IF OUR WORLD IS TO IMPROVE!

This year they have studied many historical figures and facts such as Plato, The Great Wall of China and the Titanic. I love the fact that he has P.E. every day because he is learning about taking care of his mind and body.

They encourage packing lots of protein, vegetables and fruits and no sugar or junk food.

My son is very shy and he has blossomed at this school because there is not as much noise and with a class size of 13, he gets the attention that he needs. The teachers are exceptional and encourage independent learning.

This is a secular private school. Our goal is that he craves learning and has fun. The philosophy and environment of the school has exceeded our expectations.

She shows us her confidence in herself and her abilities every day and takes pride in her achievements. She comes home everyday with a smile on her face and with excitement about telling us all about her day and what happened at school.
